Greene, a Lifetime Member of the Association for 57 years since joining in the 1967-68 season, served the role of ABCA President in 1990.

During his tenure as head baseball coach at Miami-Dade Community College/South from 1968-1996, Greene achieved remarkable success. Under his leadership, Miami-Dade clinched three State championships ('70, '78, '81) and made two appearances in the JUCO World Series ('78 & '81), claiming the national title in 1981. That same year, Greene earned the distinction of NJCAA Coach of the Year.

With a coaching record of 935-485 (.658), Greene left an indelible mark on the sport. He also took the helm as head coach of Team USA in 1988 and 1989.

Greene's legacy is evidenced by his inductions into the ABCA Hall of Fame (Class of 1994), the Florida College System Activities Association Hall of Fame (Class of 1995), and the JUCO World Series Hall of Fame (Class of 1991). In 2010, he received the prestigious ABCA/Wilson Lefty Gomez Award in recognition of his profound impact on baseball at local, national, and international levels.

Even in recent years, Greene remained an integral part of the ABCA, serving on the Board of Directors and the Hall of Fame Veterans Committee, demonstrating his enduring dedication to the sport and association he loved.
