Baseball ACE Community Clinics

The ABCA and USA Baseball are excited to announce Community Coaching Clinics as the cornerstone of the new Baseball ACE partnership between the ABCA and USA Baseball. Community Clinics, which will be held at facilities nationwide and year-round, will provide an opportunity for coaches to learn and grow by interacting with other local coaches through networking and on-field demonstrations. The clinics are geared towards youth, academy, high school and travel coaches or instructors in the area but are also great for any baseball parent or enthusiast.

Community Clinics will kick off in February 2018 and are designed to be a three to four hour learning experience that is active, engaging and fun for coaches of all levels. Coaches can expect clinic topics and drills to include hitting, pitching, fielding, throwing, practice planning and keeping the game fun.

Baseball ACE Community Clinics are FREE for the public to attend and are put together and ran entirely by the host organization. Coaches can register to attend online at www.ABCA.org/events. Clinics will be hosted by various schools, teams and leagues and added to the schedule of events continuously throughout the year. If you are interested in hosting a Community Clinic, please email ABCA Youth Division Liaison, Andrew Bartman, at abartman@abca.org.

Baseball ACE is an educational program for any and all individuals who are currently coaching baseball or aspire to coach at any level of the game. The program, offered in partnership by USA Baseball and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) aims to create a higher standard of coaching education and enhance the ability of coaches to better serve their athletes, their team and the communities. Baseball ACE is driven by the need for baseball coaches to continue to develop and increase their own involvement in coaching development throughout their coaching careers. The program aspires to create a culture of continuing education, professional development and active mentorship among the coaching community. It is a call to action for coaches to learn and grow by interacting with one another, allowing veteran coaches to pass their knowledge and guidance down to fellow coaches with less experience. By encouraging coaches to build relationships with one another and give back to the game, the program aims to unify the coaching community in order to make the sport stronger at all levels. This program is for all members of the baseball coaching community, regardless of age, level, or experience. For additional information on Baseball ACE, please visit www.BaseballACE.org.

Since 1978, USA Baseball has been the national governing body for amateur baseball. It represents the sport in the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and internationally as a member federation of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). Nearly every major national amateur baseball organization in America is united as a USA Baseball national member organization. As a result, USA Baseball governs more than 15 million amateur players in ballparks and playgrounds across the country. As the commissioner’s office for amateur baseball, USA Baseball is a resource center for its various membership groups, fans and players. USA Baseball is also responsible for promoting and developing the game of baseball on the grassroots level, both nationally and internationally. The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its more than 9,200 members represent all 50 states and 25 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School and Youth. Each January, the ABCA hosts the largest baseball convention in the world. More than 6,000 coaches attend the ABCA Convention, which is held at various locations around the United States.
