2020 ABCA/Driveline Convention Scholarship Recipients Announced

The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the 10 recipients of the 2020 ABCA/Driveline Convention Scholarship on Wednesday in the association's weekly member e-newsletter, ABCA Press Box. The scholarship recipients will receive a free convention registration along with a $400 stipend to cover convention-related costs for the 2020 ABCA Convention in Nashville.

Nearly 400 applications were submitted from ABCA members from October 1st through the application deadline on October 14. Recipients were then picked by the ABCA and Driveline Baseball. This is the second consecutive year that the ABCA and Driveline have teamed up to grant convention scholarships to deserving coaches. This year, the program was expanded from eight scholarships to granting 10 coaches the free registration & stipend.

The 2020 ABCA/Driveline Convention Scholarship Recipients are:

  • Brett Bogner – Colorado State University Club Baseball
  • James Bradford – Junction City Junior Baseball Association (KS)
  • Christopher Brodeur – New Providence High School (NJ)
  • Nelson Cooper, IV – Pittsburgh Pirates Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (PA)
  • Maxwell Cormier – RBI Select (WI)
  • Corben Green – Wiley College (TX)
  • Zach Horn – American Legion Post 550 (MN)
  • Brett Kleespies – AP High School (IA)
  • Mike Maxwell – Woodstown Heat (NJ)
  • Matthew Riebesell – Allegheny College (PA)

Each recipient will receive:

  • Free Convention Registration for 2020 ABCA Convention
  • $400 stipend to cover convention costs

  • The ABCA Convention is the World's Largest Baseball Convention. The 2020 Convention is the 76th annual convention featuring four days of non-stop baseball including coaching clinics, ABCA Trade Show, networking, "Hot Stove" Discussions, Q&A sessions, award celebrations and more! Registration is limited to the first 7,100 to sign up and less than 800 spots remain open with over 6,300 coaches signed up to attend since September 1.
