Kerrick Jackson was named Missouri's 15th head baseball coach in June 2023, becoming the first Black head coach in Southeastern Conference baseball history. Recognized as Baseball America’s 2023 Trailblazer of the Year, Jackson brings extensive coaching, recruiting, and player development experience to Mizzou, along with a mission to restore the program to national prominence. Jackson previously led Memphis to its first winning season in six years and guided Southern University to the 2019 SWAC Championship and an NCAA Regional berth. He also served as President of the MLB Draft League (2020–22) and as an assistant at Mizzou from 2011–15, where he helped the Tigers win the 2012 Big 12 Championship. A tireless advocate for diversity, Jackson chairs the ABCA Diversity in Baseball Committee and serves on its Board of Directors. His career includes scouting for the Washington Nationals, coaching at multiple collegiate programs, and leadership roles in summer leagues like the Cape Cod Baseball League.
