Bill Holowaty retired with a 1,412-528-7 (.727) record, ranking third in NCAA Div. III wins as of 2015 and 11th overall. His Eastern Connecticut State teams clinched four national titles, earning him four ABCA/Diamond National Coach of the Year awards. He has the most wins of any coach - in any sport - in New England Intercollegiate history. Holowaty's coaching legend was marked by consistency, posting at least 30 wins 28 times in the last 40 seasons under Holowaty. He championed the NCAA Division III baseball championship in the mid-1970s and served as ABCA president in 2006. Holowaty's influence extended through various roles, being one of the founders of the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), was a long-time member of the ABCA All-America committee, and currently serves as a member of the ABCA Board of Directors.
