Continuing its longstanding leadership in innovative, high performance wood bats, Louisville Slugger has introduced its most advanced wood bat line to date, the all-new MLB PRIME. This line of bats represents the brand’s most premium wood bat offering, and was designed to enhance the performance of today’s most advanced athletes and pro players.
Each MLB PRIME bat features a new proprietary finish called EXOARMOR™ and an ink-dot to signify the bat is constructed from the highest quality wood available today. Only ink-dotted bats that meet slope-of-grain standards are approved for play in Major League Baseball® (MLB).
“Elite players clamor for the hardest bats possible, and with EXOARMOR they get a bat that is two times harder than our traditional performance wood bat,” said James Sass, Director Professional Baseball Product. “During the early part of the season, the feedback from our MLB and Minor League guys has been fantastic. They tell us they can see and feel the difference. And watching them in the cage, during practice or games, you can hear it too. ”
Offered in a wide range of popular player models and standard finish options, the new MLB PRIME line up is also available for customization on Louisville Slugger’s new online design platform,
sluggercustombats.com. This allows any player to design their very own custom MLB PRIME bat through an extensive variety of handle, barrel and logo finish colors.
“Players can go to sluggercustombats.com and create a customized PRIME bat just the way they want it,” said Caroline Reddish, Louisville Slugger Brand Manager. “And we’ll make that bat just the way we have for hundreds of MLB Players like Adam Jones, David Wright, and Jason Heyward over the years.”
The new MLB PRIME bats will be available for purchase beginning May 2 at authorized Louisville Slugger retailers, at
slugger.com and at
sluggercustombats.com. Standard models will retail for $149.99, while custom-designed MLB PRIME bats will retail for $169.95.
